Device Compatibility

Supported Devices

  • Meta Quest 2

  • Meta Quest 3

Ensure that the device has the latest firmware & software updates installed for optimal performance and compatibility with FLO.

Application Requirements

Application Version

Users must have the latest version of FLO installed on the Meta Quest device.

Please note: You must log in to FLO once after each application update to download the available content packages. Each FLO update may involve a large one-time download that includes all necessary content, which will be stored locally on the device after download.

Ensure automatic app updates are enabled on the Meta Quest device to receive new versions as they become available.

Device Storage

Sufficient storage space is required to accommodate our simulation content packages.

Ensure that at least 10GB of free storage is available on the Meta Quest device.

Network Requirements

A stable internet connection is required to log in to FLO and to transmit captured simulation data to our Learning Management System (LMS).

FLO at Events & Venues Guidance

If you are using FLO at an event or venue, you may experience restrictions on network access.

Please follow this guidance to ensure successful access to FLO.

Please note: Ensure the FLO application is up-to-date before you attend an event or venue.

Before the Event

It is advisable to contact the event host to confirm you will have access to either a Wi-Fi or Mobile network connection.

Access FLO with Limited Network

To access FLO, you will need a valid internet connection to log in and some venues or organisations may not have an available Wi-Fi network.

Solution: Users can connect the Meta Quest headset to a mobile hotspot to gain internet access & log in to FLO. A 4G mobile connection is required.

After logging in, the FLO app can function offline for local content but data will not be transmitted from the device until the application is reconnected to the internet.

Venue Firewall Considerations

Certain venues or organisations may have restrictive firewalls that could block connections to the FLO application’s API or deny you from connecting the VR device to the internet.

Solution: Users can connect the Meta Quest headset to a mobile hotspot to gain internet access & log in to FLO. A 4G mobile connection is required.

Casting & Streaming Requirements

Casting the VR device content to a screen can be done wirelessly or with a cable connection

Supported Devices for Casting

  • PC/Laptop (Windows 10+)

  • Modern TV/Smart Board

  • Chromecast

  • Apple/Android Smart Phone

Local Network Requirements

Ensure both the Meta Quest device and the casting device are connected to the same local network for streaming to work seamlessly.

Casting Setup

Follow the detailed setup instructions in the casting guidelines for proper configuration and troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting

Network Issues

If network connection problems arise, verify that the network allows access to necessary online resources with someone who has access to the network.

Check firewall settings and, if necessary, use a mobile hotspot.

Casting Issues

Ensure the casting device and Meta Quest are on the same network. Refer to the casting guidelines for further assistance.
